Howden manufacture a full range of heavy-duty and industrial fan ranging in size from the largest boiler draft fan for fossil-fired power stations to small units for building service and office applications. Within this range Howden’s fan can be found wherever air or gas has to be moved efficiently and reliably. Howden supply axial, centrifugal and mixed flow fan and can offer unbiased advice as to which type is the best suited for each application.

Howden range of cooling fan is specially designed to operate at peak efficiency in field erected cooling tower, air-cooled steam condenser and packaged cooling tower. Howden supply a wide range of diameters ranging from 0.71 to 20 metres.

E-series Axial Fan
E-series Cooling Fan have individually adjustable blades. Manufactured from fibreglass reinforced polyester. The bolt design on these cooling fan allows easy assembly of the fan at site. Low noise and very low noise versions of the basic design are available. Fan diameters range from 1219 mm to 14630 mm (3 ft. to 48 ft.)

K-series Axial Fan
K-series cooling fan manufactured from extruded aluminium. The unique fan blades, with the innovative, patented "Aerotip" and the radius-cut inboard edge, have been designed for a high power recovery providing excellent aerodynamic performance. The resilient and damped connection of the fan blades to the hub guarantees the fan will operate smoothly and silently without vibration problems. Fan diameters range from 1524 mm to 4877 mm (5 ft. to 16 ft.)

Z-series Axial Fan
Z- series Cooling Fan are specially designed to operate at peak efficiency in field erected cooling tower and air-cooled steam condenser. Manufactured from fibreglass reinforced polyester. The unique fan blades, with the innovative, patented "Aerotip" and the radius-cut inboard edge, have been designed for a high power recovery providing excellent aerodynamic performance. Fan diameters range from 7925 mm to 10973 mm (26 ft. to 36 ft.)

SX-series Axial Fan
The advanced design of blade on our super low noise SX- series Cooling Fans generate, on average, a sound output 15dBA lower than other designs. This permits the cooling system to meet lower noise levels, or provide a greater amount of cooling within the noise regulations. Manufactured from fibreglass reinforced polyester. Fan diameters range from 710 mm to 10400 mm (28 inch to 34 ft.)

Ljungstrom Air Preheater (Rotary Air Preheater)

Howden rotary regenerative heat exchangers are used in boiler as air preheater, in flue gas desulfurization plant as gas/gas heaters and in tail-end selective catalytic reduction DeNox plant as gas preheaters. Our experience dates back to 1923 when we worked with Fredrik Ljungstrom to develop this type of equipment for use in utility boilers.

Howden also supplies replacement element baskets for rotary regenerative heat exchanger, (rotating or stationary matrix types), irrespective of original manufacturer. Over the past decade Howden has won more than 2000 contracts to supply replacement elements for air preheaters and FGD gas reheaters manufactured by more than 40 original equipment manufacturers.

With a range of over 45 different profiles, Howden can supply direct replacements of all element type commonly used in rotary heat exchanger, or offer alternatives which will improve the performance of the air preheater.

BURTON CORBLIN Process Compressor

Howden and Burton Corblin supply specialised ranges of gas compressor packages based on rotary screw, reciprocating and diaphragm compressor as well as high pressure turbo blower. All are supplied as skid-mounted packages with all necessary ancillary equipment and control systems.
